About Leslie
Leslie Chipre was born in Toronto, Ontario, to Ecuadorian parents. She spent her early childhood growing up in Newcastle, Ontario.
Wherever she went, her culture followed. Leslie was raised in a bilingual household, eating humitas and hornado while dancing to Madonna and Janet Jackson.
As the third-born daughter, Leslie considers her faith, family, and culture to be the most important influences in her life.
She fell in love with reading at a very young age and has never fully recovered. Fascinated by mermaids since childhood, she was inspired to write her first novella, Sirena of the Sea, which she hopes to self-publish later this year.
When she isn’t writing, you can find her baking bread, watching movies, or curled up on the couch with a good fantasy or romance novel, genres she has woven into her debut novella.
Outside of writing, Leslie is the proud mother of two adult children, who continue to encourage her and help bring her publishing dream to life.
Leslie is a stroke survivor, and while experiencing a stroke can be life-altering, she continues to seek out the things that bring her joy. Writing has become both therapeutic and a deeply fulfilling creative outlet.
As she works toward publication, Leslie has been documenting her journey, sharing the highs, the lows, and everything in between. You can follow her story here or on her social media platforms.
